Sania Mirza
One of the popular Indian Sport's Person in tennis, Sania born on November 15 1986. She then brought up to Hyderabad.
At her age of six she start playing tennis. Her father, Imran Mirza coached her. In 2003 she became professional tennis player.
She is the highest ranked female tennis player from India. Now she is holding 30th place in singles and 26th place in doubles(6 August,2007).
Her career
She won her first WTA Tennis Title on February 12, 2005 in the Hyderabad Open. She defeated Alyona Bondarenko in the final before her home crowd.
In 2005, she became the first Indian woman to reach the fourth round of a Grand Slam at US Open. In the same year she reached the third round of Australian Open.
In 2004, she became the runner up of Asian Tennis Championship.
In 2003 she won Wimbledon Girls Doubles Championship teaming up with the Russian Alisa Kleybanova.
In Doha Asian Games she won the silver in women's single and gold in mixed double teaming up with Leander Paes. She also won silver in team event.
